Trend report for Spring/Summer 2012
MADELEINE's new spring/summer collection will primarily be one thing - and that's colourful! The latest trend is called colour blocking and it's a trend no designer is able to resist. And with this trend, anything goes. Colours which are particularly brash and striking are daringly put together to create eye-catching contrasts and clearly defined fields of colour. True fashionistas will even be donning complementary contrasts and combine a bright green top with a signal orange blazer. In addition, black is set to remain a fashion favourite. In the spring and summer of 2012, black will be worn in contrast with red or used as a base tone for colour blocking. But the summer will not only be colourful, but also wild: spots, flowers and graphical patterns will be resplendent on all pieces in a collection, allowing the high spirits of summer to be transferred to our clothing. Those who prefer to be a little more subtle during this season can opt for natural tones and materials. The colours chocolate, beige, grey and rosé, along with suede, silk and cashmere, are the softies for the summer of 2012.
On-trend styles
Pure silk blouses are the must-have items for summer 2012. The light and airy fabric and silky surface make them particularly well suited to hot summer days. The fashionable pussy bow blouse, always charming, will remain in our collection. Whether plain or with a trendy print, it is an item that should not be missing from any woman's wardrobe. Pussy bow blouses can be combined with the all-round star of 2012 - the pencil skirt. This can be an attractive business-style with a matching blazer, a trendy style in signal colours, or casual in pastel hues. An outfit for every occasion. Polka dot dresses, along with classic suits and blazers in black and white, will also grace the summer of 2012.
Colours
Newcomers this season are the colours grey and rosé. Soft grey tints will be combined with powdery shades of rosé - allowing every woman to be resplendent. But the trendy colours of pink, orange, green and purple, when combined with each other or with classic black, are the real eye-catchers in the new season. Gold accessories lend a hint of elegance to the colour blocking look. In contrast, the natural colours of camel, mocha and taupe will be worn tone-on-tone or, for an elegant fashion image, combined with leopard prints and white.
Materials
The summer will be chic and cool. That's because materials such as silk, cashmere and leather feature predominantly at MADELEINE, offering a feeling of pure luxury. In addition to super-soft cashmere, softly flowing silk blouses with a wrap-around look or with intricate embroidery are the trend tip for 2012. In contrast, leather is the must-have of the season. This can take the form of trousers made of sleek goat velours, or a jacket made of lambskin with ruching, or an accessory in the form of fashionable clutch bags and gold-coloured belts. Leather should simply be in the wardrobe of every trend-conscious woman this summer. For those who prefer something a little softer, amaretta is the insider's tip. This chic imitation suede made from a light, flowing material, is super-soft to the touch and also scores when it comes to breathability and ease of care. Lace will also continue to be an on-trend material for us. In addition to skirts and dresses, it will be adorning chic and eye-catching shirts, pullovers and blouses.
Accessories
Accessories with a metallic look will provide that touch of glamour this season. Whether on shoes, bags or belts, the main thing is that is shiny. These will be combined with ballet flats in bright candy pink, or peep-toes made of suede in green, orange, pink or violet. The fashion brave will crown this look with soft gloves in ,an elegant racing driver style - preferably in pink or orange.
Lingerie
The summer will be colourful and casual in the swimwear and wellness areas. Elegant and feminine lingerie with multi-coloured embroidery on tulle in combination with discreet figure modelling will be able to persuade the discerning woman. Flowing materials, soft velours fabrics and chic lace will also offer inspiration in new colours and styles. Beachwear will be resplendent with colourful floral and multi-coloured prints. But the trendy colours of orange and pink will also be the eye-catchers at the pool and at the beach.
